Explosive Graffiti

Pretty impressive form of graffiti art by Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto.

"The idea is to take the act of vandalism –
the act of destroying in order to create –
to the extreme, as modus operandi".

I wonder what the owners of the buildings
think of his explosives and drills?

What is Situationist?

Situationist is an iPhone app that makes your everyday life more thrilling and unpredictable. It alerts members to each other's proximity and gets them to interact in random "situations". These situations vary from the friendly "Hug me for 5 seconds exactly" or "Compliment me on my haircut", to the subversive eg "Help me rouse everyone around us into revolutionary fervour and storm the nearest TV station". Members simply upload their photo and pick the situations they want to happen to them from a shortlist, in the knowledge that they might then occur anywhere, and at any time. Developer: Benrik

MIT Media Lab Identity

MIT Medialab's new visual identity is based on an algorithm that produces a unique logo for each person, including faculty, staff and students. Each person can claim and own an individual shape, based on the three geometric shapes in the design used, and can use it on their business card and personal website. They can also create animations for any video content the Lab produces, using custom software.

The identity is aimed at highlighting the spirit of collaboration the Lab represents, as it celebrates its 25th anniversary with a new building.

You Are Listening To Los Angeles

There's something cool about this. A live stream from LA police radios mixed with creative commons ambient music drawn from Soundcloud.
Cooler still is this which mixes ambient tracks with live audio radio between the space shuttle and mission control, which is landing today (wednesday) at around 4:57 pm.

Handbook of QRCode

A quick explanation about QR codes and how it works. If you like that visit denso-wave.com to learn more about the company who developed QR.

Group Me/Beluga

'Beluga', a new social network tool, has just been bought by Facebook ('Group Me' is a rival that does the same thing). It's a group texing/Foursquare thang that is proving popular with skiers, festival goers...
Not big yet, but might be soon, and a would be a channel for targeted ads/games etc.
